Bowls from Thomas Fire Wood

Bowls crafted from the wood recovered from the Thomas Fire.

Four years ago, the Thomas Fire devastated Ventura County and Southern Santa Barbara County. Manzanita was one of the types of trees damaged in the thousands of acres that the fire burned though. Later in the season, heavy rains washed the charred remains into the ocean. Arnie collected the driftwood, sculpted their charred remains and turned the manzanita into beautiful bowls. Their color holds memory to the fire in which they were  created.
